Missions
At Countryside we believe that missions, both local and global, are important. Since 15% of our church’s budget is missions, we financially support a variety of mission, which are listed below.
Love INC Love In the Name of Christ of Boone County is a unique network of churches and agencies that respond to needs of ordinary people who need HOPE in the midst of a difficult time in life. As Christian’s, we believe that genuine hope comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ. (I Peter 1:3-4) Unexpected events like the loss of a job, a serious health diagnosis, a failed relationship, or a major home repair can sometimes cause major disruptions to normal life. Hundreds of volunteers are mobilized to care for and walk with people through these challenging times.
Hanging Rock Christian Assembly was organized to teach the Good News revealed by God through Jesus Christ. It is believed that the teaching of these principles will lead to a desire to become one of His followers. The camp affords recreation and spiritual adventure in a Christian atmosphere.
Life Centers is a pregnancy resource center based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded in 1983, Life Centers (formerly Central Indiana Crisis Pregnancy Center) provides compassionate care to thousands of women facing unplanned pregnancies each year in Central Indiana.
The goal of NLCM is to reach areas of India that are “unreached” by the Gospel. Recently we have started a small work in the state of Bihar and 6 village churches in the State of Orissa. We are making plans to start an English medium school to train Pastors at our Cochin, Kerala headquarters. Since every state has its own language we will train potential leaders in English and then they will go back to their states and teach the Gospel in that state’s native language. NLCM also has a tailoring school for poor women to learn a trade.
We are OMF International (formerly the China Inland Mission and Overseas Missionary Fellowship), founded by James Hudson Taylor in 1865. We serve the church and bring the gospel to many of the countries in East Asia, and we have a pioneering ministry in the rest. We help place Christians with professional skills in China and other Asian countries, and share the love of Christ with East Asians worldwide.
Ryan, Chris and Cassy moved to Scotland in June 2004, to be a part of the team at Overtoun House. Currently, the Haneys provide a weekly Christian children’s outreach, Kinrick Kids, which meets in local primary schools and as an Overtoun Outreach. They also are involved in Overtoun ministries, Overtoun House Tea Room and at His Family Church in several ministries. Overtoun House will also provide short term housing for women in crisis, counseling and life training.
